About Tim

It started in August of 1990 when my parents handed me their Canon EOS 620 to take a picture of them.

...and from that point on, I was interested in cameras. (in fact, you can see my five-year-old self at the bottom of this frame, taking the photo)
I had my fair share of film cameras growing up. A ninja turtle camera (110 film!), a special Olympic edition Kodak 35mm point-and-shoot.
My first digital camera was this horrible brick of a digital camera by Kodak. I think it might've been 1.2 megapixels. No zoom. No settings. Just point and click. I slowly worked my way up to a Canon digital SLR during my freshman year of college where I really got interested in the "how to" of photography.
A few months after I married my beautiful bride, Sara in 2007, we found out we were expecting our first son. You can imagine that the camera was often with us after Dylan was born.

In November 2011, Brendan Liam was born into our family. This photo shows Dylan holding his little brother for the first time in the hospital.

From then on, we often documented family events, church events, our mission trips and much more.

Digital photos turned into prints, books, memories shared online and more.

Today, we are a family of four (but don't forget Lionel the cat and Stanley the dog!) living in Vancouver, Washington.

I work as a branch administrator for a local truck leasing company during the day, and Sara works for Good Shepherd Lutheran Church just down the street from our house, as a Director of Christian Ed. Together, we work as a team to shoot weddings, high school seniors, families, take school photos, take care of commercial customers.

While we believe that posed photos (like the one of us above) are important photos, our favorite shoots are the ones where we can tell a story, show someone's true personality, or help make an emotional connection.
